Most 5th wheel hitches will be mounted so that the trailer king pin is either centered over the rear truck axle or slightly in front if the axle center line. It really depends on the installation kit used. On a 1982 Chevy C10 I recommend Reese universal installation kit # RP30035. With this kit installed the center of the king pin will be approximately 3-1/2 inches forward of the center of the rear axle. I have linked the installation instructions for you. view full answer...
Paint can openers and flat screwdrivers are normally what is used to remove baby moon wheel covers like the # AM981306. Just be careful and you won't damage the cover. view full answer...
The gooseneck trailer hitch I recommend for a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Extended Cab is the Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # 9465-40. The Hide-A-Goose installs with custom fit brackets that fit into existing holes in the side of the frame. The 3-1/2" diameter hitch ball opening will be drilled 44-9/16" from the edge of the bed. view full answer...
When installing the Derale Transmission Cooler, # D13504, the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting, # D13035, will connect to the transmission return line from the radiator. To determine which is the cool side, start your vehicle and put it in gear with your foot on the brake. Run the engine to about 2000 RPM for about a minute and then turn off your truck. Touch the lines running from the radiator to the transmission to find the cooler of the two. One you have located the cool side,... view full answer...
You should not have to disconnect the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller, # C24VV, when backing up. Brake controllers are designed to send power to the trailer brakes when you step on the brake pedal. When backing up, you typically step on the brake pedal several times, so many people simply disconnect the trailer connector from the tow vehicle before backing up.
The Curt TriFlex brake controller is a proportional brake controller that uses an internal inertia sensor to sense the braking intensity... view full answer...
Even with a 4-way already on your 1997 Chevy K2500, there will not be wires for a brake controller that are under the dash so you will need to run them yourself. And to install a brake controller you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.
I have added a link to a video install of this kit on a similar model year Chevy truck which should be helpful.
For a brake controller I highly recommend the Even Brk Trailer Brake Controller # TK63VR with Harness... view full answer...
Per the manufacturer, Excel, the Excel RV Tankless On-Demand Water Heater - Gas - Electric Ignition - Ventless - 38,000 Btu # EX93FR has to be installed upright with the vent facing upwards. Other than that the only other installation restriction is to not install it in a bathroom or bedroom so you can install it wherever you have the space for it. view full answer...
I attached a picture that I took from the install instructions for the Draw Tite gooseneck hitch part # 8339-4440 that you referenced. There's some cutting and drilling required to install the hitch but you would not need to lift the bed up to complete the install. view full answer...
Our trailer tire and wheel combinations, such as the Loadstar # AM3S870 you referenced, do not come balanced like automotive tires do. When the tire is mounted to the wheel, the high (heavy) spot on the wheel is matched to the low (light) spot on the tire. This leaves the wheel and tire adequately balanced for trailers. You may have the tire/wheel professionally balanced if you wish, but having perfectly balanced tires is not as important with trailer tires as it is with passenger vehicles.... view full answer...
I called Curt to make sure that this is normal when the trailer is not connected. They confirmed that your brake controller is working exactly like it should. There should be a red light when you get in, and then it should change to a green light. view full answer...
There isn't a brake controller wiring harness for the 1988 Chevy K1500 so the brake controller will need to be hardwired in. If the truck does not have any trailer connector at all then the first thing you would need is a 4-Way, # 118315 if it is NOT a crew cab or #HM41115 if it is a crew cab.
With the 4-Way installed (or if you already have a 4-Way) you would then need to install 4 and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation.

First, on the towing vehicle, you will need to install a battery isolator, # PK5231201. The flow of current will go from the vehicle battery to the isolator. From the isolator it will go along a length of 12 gauge wire, # 12-1-1, to the vehicle side trailer connector via a 30 amp circuit breaker.
Next, 12 gauge wire will need to run from the trailer side 7-Way to the positive Trailer battery terminal. If the winch came with a circuit breaker it will need to go between the winch and positive... view full answer...
The 1992 Chevy C/K Series 1500 did not come with a port for a brake controller. Instead, you will need to hard wire the brake controller by first installing a 4-Way, # 118315, and then installing a 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. If the Truck already has a 4-Way, then you will not need the 118315. I have included a link to the installation details and a video below showing installation of an ETBC7 kit.
If your truck already has a functioning 7-Way, you can use a length of wire #... view full answer...
The Bully Bumper Mount Backup Light # PL-807 is designed for hard-wired installation by connecting to the reverse light circuit of your Chevrolet pickup. It is not intended to connect to a 4-pole or 5-pole flat trailer connector.
Installation is simple. You will connect the black (ground) wire to a clean bare metal surface on the vehicle or you can use an existing grounding point behind one of the taillight assemblies if one is available. The fused (red) power input wire will splice to... view full answer...
The Custom Underbed Installation Kit for the B&W Companion, part # BWGNRK1000-5W, is indeed a correct fit for your 1997 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup. Yes, this kit installs without any drilling to the truck frame. This kit installs easily using existing holes in your vehicle's frame and provides complete truck bed access when you're not towing.

To attach the Rightline Gear SUV Tailgate Awning - 8' Long x 6' Wide # RG44FR to the rear window of your truck bed camper shell the window would need to have struts to hold it open. You would then be able to attach the straps around the window to tighten the awning to the window. You can see this being done at the 3:30 mark of the attached video. view full answer...
The power at your house would be on a 15 amp outlet so the adapter you'd need is the # A10-1530DBK which uses he same 30 amp twist lock connector as your # A10-30INVP and converts it to the same 15 amp socket your house has. view full answer...
Since you have already removed the pins and the bearing brackets on your Curt Q20 # C16130 and the head won't come loose, there is a simple solution. It is often the case when the hitch is disassembled for the first time that the square shaft gets bound up on the rubber isolator. If you spray some penetrating oil on that square shaft and let it work through that rubber isolater, it will soon come loose for you. view full answer...
In order to find the correct wire on the brake switch to connect to the red wire on a brake controller, you will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if needed. Probe the wires on the brake switch located above the brake pedal. You are looking for the wire that shows a signal only when the brake pedal is pressed and not also with the headlights or turn signals.
Once you have found the correct wire attach the brake controller red wire to it.
There is another option. On some 90s... view full answer...
